AZF 2025
Featuring over 40 vendors, this year’s AZF will be held at The Center for Craft’s Ideation Lab (basement level) at 67 Broadway in downtown Asheville.

12:30 – 1:30pm Print House Workshop
Work with an experienced printmaker as you are guided along the mono print and bookmaking process. Create a sheet or two that you can incorporate into a zine or learn to create a one page zine through multiple folding and cutting methods.
Sessions are one hour long and are held at Print House, 29 Carolina Lane ( just down the alley from Center for Craft). All materials are provided free of charge. Drop-ins are welcome at any time.

1:30 – 2pm Film viewing “KNUST – The pioneers of Riso Print”
The documentary “KNUST, the pioneers of Riso print” by Ivana Smudja tells the story of a post-fluxus art collective “Knust” founded in the 80’s during the large-scale squatter revolt in Nijmegen.

2:15 – 3pm Zine Reading
Hosted by local writer, educator, and all around shredder, JR Rhine. This is an open mic opportunity for zine fest vendors and the public to read and share their work.

4:00 – 5pm Zine-Making 101 with Elliot Reed
Whether you’ve never made a zine or you want to make another, Zine-Making 101 is for you. This workshop begins with a brief background of what zines have looked like and where they come from, then, following a facilitated brainstorming session, the workshop turns to the act. You’ll leave with one copy of your new zine at the end of the hour.

5:30 – 7pm Photos From Helene Exhibition Special Zine Fest Reception
Photos From Helene will be on display 12-5pm at Little Animals Gallery (31 Carolina Lane) featuring hundreds of found photos, and written accounts of stories of people reunited with their precious family photos. Light refreshments will be served at the reception.
